Conflict Minerals Sourcing Policy
Er-Bakir Conflict Minerals Sourcing Policy
“Conflict Minerals” (also called 3TG) originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and neighboring countries are sometimes mined and sold by armed groups to “finance conflict characterized by extreme levels of violence”.
Some of these minerals and the metals created from them (such as tantalum, TIN, tungsten and gold) can make their way into the supply chains of the products used around the world.
As part of Er-Bakır's sense of corporate responsibility and its commitment to respect human rights both in its own operations and in its global supply chain, our goal is to procure and use the Tin material (the only one we use among Conflict Minerals) from sources outside of Conflict countries.
We as Er-Bakir expect our suppliers to have in place policies that will enable us to reasonably assure that products and components supplied to us containing conflict minerals are DRC conflict free. The CMRT is part of the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI).
In support of this policy, Er-Bakir will:
- Continue our work with the CMRT
- Provide information to our suppliers about our Conflict minerals sourcing policy, encouraging them to comply with it
- Provide due diligence information to confirm that the minerals in our supply chain are conflict free
- Collaborate with our suppliers and customers to enable products that are DRC conflict free
